About SGO Index

SGO Index is a free, public directory of Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) for the federal scholarship tax credit. It helps families find scholarships, donors find SGOs to give to, and schools and SGOs keep their pages current.

How it works

  • Every SGO we list is on a participating state's official list and is matched to its IRS record by EIN.
  • Every fact on the site shows its source and when it was last checked.
  • SGOs keep their status (whether they are taking applications or donations) current from their dashboard, or have their own systems send it to us automatically.
  • We link to each SGO's own site to apply or donate. We never take donations or scholarship applications ourselves.

The full rules for what gets listed and in what order are on our Methodology page.

Who runs SGO Index

SGO Index is owned by sgoguide.com. Listing order and badges follow the rules on our Methodology page, and no organization can pay for placement.

Data on this site is shared with sgoguide.com. SGO rankings here are independent.

Because SGO Index is owned by sgoguide.com, the site owner may share any information this site holds about SGOs, schools, scholarships and states with sgoguide.com, at the owner's discretion. Family alert sign-ups are never shared with sgoguide.com.

See our Privacy page for what we collect and share.
