Claim your SGO's listing

If your Scholarship Granting Organization is on a participating state's official list, it's already listed here. Claim the listing, for free, to tell families and donors about your scholarships and keep your status current.

Not on a state list yet? States send their first lists to the IRS by Feb 15, 2027, but you don't have to wait: propose your listing now.

Why claim it

  • Families and donors find you here. Families search for their child's school and see the scholarships its students can use. Donors search by school, by state or by name to find an SGO to give to.
  • Show that you're open. Say whether you're taking applications and donations, with your own Apply and Donate links, so families and donors know whether to act now.
  • Be listed ahead. Listings are ordered by how current their status is: live status first, then status updated by the SGO in the last 90 days, then everyone else. The same rules apply to every SGO (see Methodology).
  • Put your scholarships on school pages. List each scholarship and the schools it covers. Every one of those schools' pages then shows it, and families who signed up for alerts at those schools get an email when it opens.
  • Hear about problems first. When someone reports a problem with your listing, or one of your links stops working, we email you.

Listing is free, and so is claiming. No one can pay to be listed or to be placed higher.

How to sign up

It takes a few minutes. There's no password to create.

  1. Find your SGO's page in the list of SGOs or on your state's page, and choose “Claim this listing”. Not there? Propose it first.
  2. Sign in with your work email. We send you a sign-in link, or a one-time code if you prefer. That creates your account.
  3. Show that you work there. Pick one:
    • Your email address is on your website's domain. This is the quickest.
    • Add a DNS record we give you to your website's domain.
    • Upload your IRS determination letter plus a signed statement from an officer.
  4. We review it. A person on our team checks every claim, then emails you the decision. Once approved, your dashboard opens and you can edit the listing.

Already approved? Sign in to your dashboard.

Once your claim is approved

  • Add your mission, a description of up to 600 characters, your logo and a banner, your website and contact details, including a mailing address for donors.
  • Pick the states you serve. They show on your page, on a map, and in each state's list of SGOs not on its official list yet, until the state's list includes you.
  • Say whether you're taking applications and donations, with your Apply and Donate links. A status you set lasts 90 days, so families never act on an old one. Every 30 days we email you to check it; if nothing has changed, one click confirms it.
  • Or keep it current automatically: create a key in your dashboard and have your own systems, or your software vendor, send your status and scholarships to us. Status sent this way shows a “Live” badge, and SGOs with live status are listed first. The same rules apply to every SGO and every vendor.
  • List your scholarships and the schools they cover. Each school's page then shows them to families and donors.
  • Invite colleagues to help keep the listing up to date.

Your EIN, legal name, IRS facts and the state lists you're on come only from official sources, so you can't edit them. If one is wrong, report a problem.

States send their 2027 SGO lists to the IRS by Feb 15, 2027, and the IRS will publish one combined list. You don't have to wait for it. Tell us about your organization now and you can be listed before families and donors start looking.

  1. Send the form below. It takes a few minutes.
  2. We check it. A person on our team checks your EIN with the IRS and your details against your website, then emails you.
  3. Your listing goes up once your EIN is active with the IRS. It says “Not on a state list yet” and is shown after SGOs that are on one. When your state's official list includes you, that label goes away by itself.
  4. Manage it. We can invite you to manage the listing straight away, so you can add your description, Apply and Donate links, scholarships and the schools they cover.

We list nonprofits whose EIN is active with the IRS and that plan to grant scholarships under the federal tax credit. Listing is free.
