How does SGO Index decide which SGOs to list?

We list SGOs that appear on a participating state's official federal SGO list, and we match each one to its IRS record by EIN. Before a state's list is out, an SGO can ask to be listed early; we check its EIN with the IRS, label it “Not on a state list yet” and list it after SGOs on the list. The order follows the published rules on our Methodology page. No organization can pay for placement.
